What is your favourite winter remedy?

Which winter remedy do you rely on most of all?
My children know to gargle salt water before complaining of a sore throat, becuase they know that is the answer they will get.
Do you rely on something "special" to get your through the winter months? Share it so we can all give it a go or try something from the list below and overcome the winter sniffles.
  • Chicken soups (do you have a brillant receipe?)
  • Fresh lemon & Manuka honey in a cup of boiling water
  • Freshly ground root ginger added to all your meals
  • Nip of scotch to kill any bugs!
  • Visit Elysium for some time out!
Looking forward to hearing what else you can add.

Must haves for Winter

One of the most important things to do in Winter is to keep your skin gently stimulated and maintain a healthy circulation. The face has millions of tiny nerve endings, which react to extremes in temperature. By keeping skin stimulated you'll encourage the elimination of toxins, ensure a healthy turnover of cells and stimulate muscle tone. This will combat the drying effects of the cold and central heating.
Constant changes in temperature can cause the skin to over-compensate, making an imbalance in the production of sebum. Keeping the skin stimualted is a delicate balancing act. Too much can be as bad as too little.
Never use anything that leaves your skin thirsty. If it feels sore of taught after using a product, stop using it. What the skin misses in winter is emollinecy to help stop is losing moisture and keep it soft.
Winter is the time to get back to basics and balance oil and moisture levels.
